Sherwood Forest Park and Visitor Centre
A great place to go and explore the legend of Robin Hood in over 400 acres of woodland. Visit the Major Oak, and relive the exploits of Robin Hood and his merry men. A visitor centre and restaurant is also on site, plus car parking.

White Post Animal Farm Centre
The East Midlands Visitor Attraction of the Year in 2005, the White Post Farm Centre provides a great day out with the opportunity to get up close and feed the animals! A great day out for all ages.

Wheelgate Adventure Park
A varied and fun time awaits you at Wheelgate Adventure Park. With hands-on activities including newborn chicks, lambs feeding, bunnies, guinea pigs, kids and piglets. Don’t miss the Tropical House with daily interactive talks, your opportunity to have a hands-on experience with reptiles, tarantulas, enormous snakes and giant butterflies! The ‘Flight of The Raptors’ is a fascinating falconry shows for all ages. Skim down fast Astro Slides and pedal Karts and have lots more fun!

Green’s Windmill and Science Centre
A delightful working windmill set on a hill near Nottingham. Explore the windmill and see the flour being made by the miller. It also has a great interactive attraction so if its raining you can spend time indoors. Don’t forget to pick up some of the flour, you might want to do some baking back at the cottage!

The Workhouse
Now owned by the National Trust in Southwell, this is a great visit to see the best preserved Victorian Workhouse in England. The magnificent building is a great insight into how the Victorians dealt with the poor , and get a feel for the experiences of the people who lived there. Afterwards you may want to wander round the historic town of Southwell, see the minster and enjoy a café.

Ice skating
This is a cool experience whatever your age or ability and with an Ice rink close by at the Lammas Leisure Centre this is a great activity anytime of the year.

Cycling & Walking
Teversal Trails
Teversal is at the centre of the ‘Teversal Trails’, an expanding network of cycle tracks and footpaths, making use of the former Midland and Great Northern Railways. Going North-east, the trails reach a preserved colliery head-works and nature reserve at Pleasley and then connect with trails through Pleasley Vale, containing a former water powered textile mill complex.
Silverhill Trail
Going west, the Teversal trails connect with the Silverhill trail which continues into Derbyshire to the Five Pits trail, with possible stops at the Herb Garden and the Shoulder, a 17th century inn, at Hardstoft.
There are many more possibilities for cycling and walking in Clumber Park and Sherwood Pines Forest Park, which connects with National Cycling Route No. 6.
